Pastor Lynn returned to the Kansas region to be the Senior Minister at FCC the end of October 2007. He served the Hamilton Church in St. Louis, the congregation at Bethany, MO and was a “pastor-developer” (as they were called in those days) for the Highland Christian Church (DOC) in Bella Vista, AR during the 16 years he was away from Kansas.
Raised in a Christian home, Lynn was the oldest of five. He was active in church and Boy Scouts as a youth. His undergraduate work was done at Manhattan Christian College, earning the Bachelor of Arts Bible-Ministry Degree in 1973. During college years, Lynn served as a youth minister on weekends and toured with the Continental Singers the summer of 1972. He became the pastor at Glen Elder during his senior year.
After marrying the “daughter of the Disciples pastor down the road”, Marji, Lynn moved his new bride to the east and entered Emmanuel School of Religion to begin graduate work.
He pastured two small “mountain churches” and was the minister of music and youth at a large Baptist Church during those years.
He completed the Master of Divinity degree in 1979 and mover back to the Midwest.
Lynn is an avid golfer, enjoys woodworking and loves BBQ. He and Marji are the parents of three grown children and have a new grandson, Levi, born November 5, 2007.
