Please Note: All children and youth classes meet for an opening
worship service at 9:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall located in the church
basement. After a brief opening service they go to individual classes
as follows. A graded curriculum is followed that is especially prepared
for each group. Kindergarten through 8th grade are held in classrooms
in the basement.
Nursery: Located on the second floor near the sanctuary. Room
#202.
Ages 3 and 4: Classroom is #108.
High School: on main floor
All adult classes meet on the main floor (the floor where the sanctuary
is located.)
NEW BEGINNINGS:
Meets in the church chapel. The class focuses on the churches
of the New Testament.
SEEKERS:
The Seekers class is made up of adults of all ages. The class
uses the Bible Discovery series of lessons from Christian Board of Publication.
The class spends most of its time in discussion and sharing of ideas.
Those who attend this class enjoy Bible study, but expect to discover
how to apply that study in their lives.
S.O.S. (Study, Obey and Serve):
A very friendly and caring group of adults. There is a lot
of discussion to accompany Bible Study.
BOOSTERS:
Bible studies and discussions are an important part of the
Boosters fellowship. The class consists mainly of seniors who enjoy
being together and having a close fellowship, noting birthdays and any
other special joys or hardships.
BREAKFAST
AND BIBLE:
This
class meets in the Kitterman Room, Church Office Building, where you
can eat for free and drink all the coffee you want. The Bible
is taught survey style, completing one book of the Bible before we
move to the next one.
Our only “text book” will be the Bible itself, although there
are references to commentaries for greater illumination on the
cultural and historical background.
Class participants will be asked to look up cross referenced
scriptures and read them to the class, so come prepared with your
Bible, your reading glasses, and ready to “let your fingers do the
walking!”
Discussion of the text and questions will be encouraged. This
is truly a great class for adults of all ages.
SUNDAY
EVENING CLASSES:
Sunday
Evening Classes are held from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. and cover various topics.
A new member class is offered for those joining First Christian Church.
This class will help you understand what it means to be part of the
church, what we believe, what is available to you at First Christian
and how you may become involved. The class meets each spring and is
offered at other times on request. The ministerial staff stands ready
to help you with any questions you might have about the church and how
the church may help you.
